VBert is a lysergic turn-based rendition of the atari classic QBert.
It was developed for Vorlat, a local party taking place in Porto Alegre – RS, Brazil.
V*Bert was developed by Mean Look (of which I am 50% of the team, the other half being Diogo Ribeiro – programmer) under a very delicate set of constraints:
Finished in under a week and to be deployed at a very loud party.
For the final version we used a projector and a USB dance mat. The final game had no sound – as the players would be listening to the party’s DJ while they played – and turn-based – not to rush newcomers into an early death.
